our history

Our Savior Lutheran Church was organized on December 18, 1966 as a mission congregation with six communicant members. On January 20, 1980 we became a self-supported congregation.

Our gracious Lord has greatly blessed our congregation, which now has about 200 communicant members and over 300 souls. Throughout the years since 1966, the true Word of God has been preached by four resident pastors and five vacancy pastors. Timothy Soukup, the current pastor, was installed on June 30, 1996.

Members from our congregation have started new congregations in Austin, Fredericksburg, and the nucleus of members of Cross of Christ in Universal City was from Our Savior. Spreading the Gospel through outreach to the community is carried out through programs including our Christian Day School, the Jesus Cares program for the developmentally disabled, vacation bible school, as well as a host of others.
