Cooper Knoll
Hello! My name is Cooper Knoll, and I’m blessed to serve as a vicar here at Our Savior this year. I’m currently in my third year at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin. A vicar is essentially an intern, so this year is all about gaining hands-on ministry experience. Pastor Nate will be my “professor” and mentor during my time here. After vicar year, I’ll return to the Seminary for one final year before receiving a call into full-time pastoral ministry in May 2027.
I was born in Texas but grew up in Ohio and Wisconsin. My dad is a pastor, and although I didn’t plan on following in his footsteps, I still felt drawn to ministry. I headed to Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota to become a teacher. After a year, God redirected my path toward pastoral ministry, and it has been a blessing ever since.
My wife, Maddie, and I were married in July 2025. Two weeks later, we packed up and moved to San Antonio. Maddie is a teacher but is taking this year to explore other opportunities. We both love being outdoors in God’s creation and taking in great views. I enjoy hunting and fishing, and together we love exploring new places. We’re having fun discovering the unique character of San Antonio—and we’re always looking for good restaurant recommendations!
In the short time we’ve been here, the people of OSL have already been such a blessing to us. Thank you for your warm welcome, kindness, and support. We’re grateful to be part of this church family!
