Josiah Mittelstadt
I spent most of my childhood in the Twin Cities, Minnesota where I spent lots of time outside with my 5 siblings. I was blessed to be able to witness a life of ministry firsthand as I saw my father serve as a pastor. This experience put similar interests on my radar and played a part in my decision to attend Luther Preparatory School and Martin Luther College to learn more about serving as a pastor someday. Along the way I have been blessed to have gained more experience and interests as I pursue full-time ministry. I am now in my third year of graduate school at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI. The third year of this graduate-level training is an internship or apprenticeship year of hands-on experience at an established church where the Pastor serves as professor for the year. In WELS circles this is called the "Vicar Year." My title is "Vicar" which means representative or substitute. Basically, I get to serve at OSL and gain lots of valuable experience led by Pastor Nate. I can't wait to see how God blesses our year together!
I married my wife, Devon, in July of 2022 and we are expecting our first child in October of this year (2024)! Devon is a Veterinary Technician and as you might expect loves to work with animals. I enjoy music, sports, and technology. We like to spend our time together listening to music, playing card games, and exploring the great culture and cuisine that San Antonio has to offer! We'd love to get to know you during our year here at OSL so feel free to say hello anytime you see us at church!
